About Us

Our Mission

Loving God, Loving People, &
Growing Followers of Jesus

We believe that there is only one true God who exists in three separate but equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God the Father is our maker and the creator of all things. By the Father's word, all things were made, and we are His most beloved creation. The Son is Jesus Christ, who came to earth as the perfect "go-between" between God and humanity. He has redeemed us and is the voice to the Father on our behalf. The Holy Spirit calls us to believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior, keeps us in the one true faith, and equips us for living out our faith.

Sin and Salvation

We believe that God created a perfect world for us and through sin we messed it up. We are all touched by sin and sin has corrupted this world, our lives, and destroyed our relationship with God and one another. God, in His love, made a way for us through Jesus Christ. Jesus was uniquely both God and man, "God in flesh." Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension saved us and brings us back into relationship with God as His children. Jesus is deserving of our worship and obedience.

We believe the Holy Spirit is active in the lives of individuals to convict us of our sin and point us to Jesus for forgiveness and salvation. The Holy Spirit brings renewing life and power to His people and His church. We affirm the gifts of the Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit for the health and vitality of our community of faith.

We believe all Scripture is inspired by God and is always relevant. Through the Bible, God has made known all matters pertaining to life and salvation. We believe that the Bible is completely reliable. In it we learn everything we need to know about God's love and His gifts to us.

Mission-Minded For our community and world

We believe and affirm Jesus' call to go into all the world and "make disciples" defines the church. Transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, we live out of His love to people among us and around the world. We seek to make a difference by being a "local outpost of the Kingdom of God."

We believe prayer is our most powerful tool to bring change into the lives of people and this world. Prayer is our way to grow in faith, love, and obedience to the will of God. Prayer for the church, its ministries, and its people helps bring healing, strength, and protection from the forces of evil.

We believe that God has given us gifts to bring His kindness and love to us. Besides the spoken and written Word of God, God comes to us in Baptism and Holy Communion. We believe that through the waters of Baptism, God forgives us our sin, adopts us as His children, and gives the gift of new life. We affirm the baptism of infants. We believe that in Holy Communion Jesus is really present, giving us his Body and Blood in, with, and under the bread and wine. In Holy Communion Jesus brings us forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation.

We believe all humans are created in the image of God. Each person is valuable and created wonderfully by God. Each life is to be honored, dignified, and protected from conception until death. We also affirm that the Scripture teaches that marriage is defined between one man and one woman, and that human sexual expression and fulfillment take place only within the boundaries of that relationship.

We believe in passing along faith to the next generation and helping them grow and develop a faith of their own. We value age-specific programing for kids and encourage their participation in the life of the church. We welcome kids to be in worship services and want them to know the love of Jesus for them.

We see followers connected to Jesus and each other through strong relationships and a sense of belonging because of meaningful worship, fellowship, youth-focused ministries, and a commitment to serving beyond ourselves.

As followers of Jesus Christ at Trinity...

  • We envision ourselves and our church creating worship environments that generate true praise in the hearts of God’s people, announcing forgiveness and salvation through Christ Jesus, employing worship styles that are culturally relevant, helping each generation to focus on Jesus Christ – His worthiness, and His mercy.
  • We envision services that communicate God’s Word effectively to today’s multi-sensory oriented people, using spoken and written word, vocal and instrumental music, and visual arts.
  • We envision ourselves and our church worshiping God in everyday life, as we seek to live according to His Word in day-to-day circumstances. The living Lord will be honored among us as our daily decisions and actions are conditioned by love for God and love for other people.
  • We envision ourselves and our church sharing the glorious good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection with thousands of people in and around Columbus – people who are far from God, people who are honestly seeking to know God, and people who believe in God but are not worshiping Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • We envision our church as a place where there’s freedom for seekers to engage in an honest investigation of Christian truths – a place where questions are welcomed.
  • We envision ourselves and our church employing new mission strategies to reach new generations of the unchurched, and finding our place in ministry to and with a community that is ever more radically and culturally divers.
  • We envision ourselves and our church engaged in mission work in our local community, in our nation and around the world, through financial support, mission trips, and local action with community ministries and organizations.
  • We envision developing all our people – new believers and established believers – into fully functioning followers of Christ through engaging worship services, creative and relevant classes for children and adults, learning and growing opportunities for teens, special events, small groups, and multiple opportunities for individuals to engage in ministry according to their own unique gifts.
  • We envision men and women receiving intentional training in order to become leaders who make disciples.
  • We envision individual believers who are engaged and empowered by faith to shed the baggage of their hurtful past – the shame, guilt, anger or unfulfilled emotional needs that now hinder them in life – and find new life in a relationship with a Heavenly Father who loves them unconditionally.
  • We envision the growth of authentic Christian community in our church through relationships that are built on honesty, trust, bearing one another’s burdens, celebration, biblical admonishment, loving encouragement, forgiveness, praying together and unity in worship.
We see followers connected to Jesus and each other through strong relationships and a sense of belonging because of meaningful worship, fellowship, youth-focused ministries, and a commitment to serving beyond ourselves.

At Trinity, we find joy in praying for individuals. Kindly express your prayer intentions, and we will lift them up in our prayers.
