Baptism
As Luther writes in Luther’s Small Catechism, “[Baptism] brings about forgiveness of sins, delivers from death and the devil, and gives everlasting salvation to all who believe, as the Word and promise of God declare….It is not the water that does these things, but the Word of God connected with the water and our faith which relies on that Word.” Baptism reveals how the Holy Spirit has forgiven us our sins, by uniting us to Jesus, and putting our sinful selves to death to raise us to new life with Jesus. And who is this for? Everyone! Who is everyone? Infants, adults, teenagers, elderly people – baptism is for all.
Trinity schedules baptisms the second weekend of every month. Special arrangements can be made for other dates, at a pastor’s approval. If you are interested in scheduling a baptism, please contact the church office.
Weddings
“For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24
Congratulations! We rejoice with you that you wish to be married at Trinity Lutheran Church. We are in the marriage business, not just the wedding ceremony business. We want your marriage to be a joy that endures.
A marriage ceremony held at Trinity will be a Christian marriage service. The difference between coming to our church for your wedding as opposed to going to the courthouse is that you are asking for a Christian marriage. God Himself ordained marriage. “The man shall be united to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24) What makes it uniquely Christian is that two people who have a relationship with Jesus Christ are joined together. Jesus Himself is the center of their bond.
Please contact the church office if you wish to be married at Trinity.
Ceremonies of non-members will be considered upon a meeting with one of the pastors.
Our life in the church also enables us to be accountable to one another and to the Word of God. As we mature spiritually, we grow in our knowledge and application of the Scriptures and develop a biblical worldview that protects us from the common deceptions of modern life and leads us in fulfilling God’s designs.
Funerals
May the peace of God’s presence and His grace in Christ be your strength in the loss you have suffered. Jesus said, “I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you.” John 14:18
Making funeral arrangements can be a difficult process because important decisions often must be made in a very limited period of time and during a period that can be marked by intense emotion due to grief. The Trinity pastors and other helpers in the church will make every effort to assist you.
Options for visitation and service times, locations, service content, memorial gift preferences and meal options will be clearly explained when your family meets with the pastor and the funeral director.
