Trinity's Care Ministry uses the gifts, talents and abilties of its members to bring Christ's love to those in the congregation and community.
MEMBER CARE - Member Care is a one-on-one ministry in which individuals and couples are assigned to a senior and shut in member of the congregation. Care Givers are asked to visit their Care Receiver at least once or twice a month and to write a brief summary of their visit and what needs their Care Receiver may have. This information is then shared with the Director of Care Ministry and with the Trinity Pastors.
PRAYER CHAIN - Trinity Lutheran strongly believes in the power of prayer. Our Prayer Chain prays for the needs of Trinity members and anyone who desires it. For confidentiality, first names only are used in the Prayer Chain. Those desiring to place themselves or others on the Prayer Chain can contact the Director of Care Ministry, or one of the Pastors or the Church Office.
TRANSPORTATION - Trinity's Transportation Ministry provides rides for persons who wish to attend weekend services or mid-week events. They also provide rides for those who have doctor appointments. Most rides are limited to the Columbus area; however, as opportunities permit, they may also provide rides to Omaha, Lincoln, and Norfolk.
CARE IN ACTION - Trinity's Care In Action is responsible for making the holidays merrier for needy families. They provide food vouchers to area grocery stores during Thanksgiving and Christmas. They also oversee the Trinity Angel Tree which provides gifts for children as well as utility and food vouchers to needy families and the children of parents who may be incarcerated.
MEALS ON WHEELS - Trinity works with other area churches in providing meals for those who may be homebound. Meals are collected at Columbus Community Hospital and two person teams drive 6 routes to provide meals and a friendly face. We presently deliver meals about every 8 weeks.
TRINITY NEWSWATCHERS - Trinity has a team of newswatchers who read area newspapers looking for special events, anniversairies, births, and funerals. The team then sends appropriate cards and letters on behalf of the congregation.
