IMAGINE A CHURCH
Whereas membership in a local church is desirable, at Trinity we emphasize the importance of Spiritual Growth which includes Prayer, Bible Study, Worship and Service. You do not have to be a member of Trinity to participate in congregational life and ministries. However, God has always called into community those who love and serve Him. Membership does imply a certain level of commitment, participation, and financial support. Church membership also is part of our daily witness for Christ. Membership also affords voting eligibility on congregational issues.
Membership at Trinity can take place in three ways:
Anyone who is baptized at Trinity becomes a member of the Trinity congregation. Baptisms are scheduled at worship services once monthly and can be arranged through the Trinity Church Office. Adults who are baptized shall have completed the New Member Seminar (see below).
Transfer of Membership -
Those who are already members of another Lutheran congregation can request a transfer of membership from their former church to Trinity. The New Member Seminar is not required, but is highly recommended.
Affirmation of Faith -
Those who belong to a non-Lutheran church or have no previous church membership are invited to a three session New Member Seminar which will introduce them to the teachings and beliefs of the Lutheran Church (see below).
NEW MEMBER SEMINARS
The New Member Seminar is a three-part presentation scheduled three times annually. The presentations are held on three consecutive Sunday mornings during the teaching hour between services - 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Select the seminar that fits your calendar. The seminar presentations will cover topics of special interest to those who are new to the church, as well as to those who are life-long followers of Christ.
The sessions are relaxed, fun and with opportunity to ask questions. Once you've completed the seminar you will be invited to be received by the congregation at an upcoming worship service. Call the Church Office at 402-564-8547 to obtain further details.
